Class #101 - Discovering Open Arms Church
Many new friends from our community have insightful questions and natural curiosities after being our guest for a few weeks. Most want to know what the 'Next Step' is in order to connect and discover how to make Open Arms their church home. We have responded to that need by offering a quarterly workshop on Sunday afternoons (11:30-2:30 pm). It is called #101 Discovering Open Arms Church.
The workshop addresses the following topics:
1. What are the basic Christian beliefs of the church
2. What are the church's core values (our way or philosophy of ministry)
3. What is offered for me or my family to better connect with God
4. How did the church get started and what is the background of the pastors
5. Is the church affiliated with a larger group or denomination.
6. How does one become a member
7. How are the finances handled (full disclosure & congregation involvement or closed)?
8. How do I make friends and meet other people if am interested in that
9. Other...all questions welcomed!
We hold certain values that passionately guide us towards God's purpose for us, and we want you to know them. We believe they will encourage and inspire you. The workshop is informal, interactive, and questions are welcomed. You will meet each of the three pastors. The workshop is led by our senior pastor, John Mulligan who has been with the church from its beginnings. There is no obligation for those who attend. Participation is the next step for those ready to move toward membership.
We believe God is doing a great work in our church and that He has even greater things in store. We hope you are a part of that future.
Again, the workshop is once a quarter on a Sunday afternoon from 11:30-2:30 pm following the worship service in the Kid's Church room in the Education Wing. A pizza lunch with drinks and snacks is served free of charge. The dates are published in the church program and online on the church calendar a month in advance. You can register by signing up in the foyer or online (info@openarmsonline.org).
